Service Description

Volcán Villarrica is one of the most active and recognizable volcanoes on the planet, and one of the most iconic ski touring experiences in southern Chile. Its perfect conical shape, panoramic views over Lake Villarrica, and dynamic volcanic environment make this ascent a truly unique day in the Araucanía region. This full-day program is designed for skiers seeking a ski mountaineering experience on an active volcano, approached with professionalism, careful planning, and strong safety standards. The itinerary is adapted to the group’s level, as well as to snow conditions, weather, and current volcanic activity. Access is typically via the Villarrica Ski Resort, which depending on logistics and conditions, may allow the use of lift infrastructure to facilitate the ascent, optimize vertical gain, and maximize effective ski time on the mountain. The operational base for this program is Pucón, where daily logistics are coordinated. This objective can easily be combined with other volcano ski tours and mountain activities in the region. All outings are led by UIAGM / IFMGA certified mountain guides with professional training in winter and volcanic risk management. We operate with intentionally small groups, prioritizing safety, sound decision-making, and a personalized mountain experience.
